Day 11 was our second day at the Inn at Fortune Bridge and it was expected to be a rain-out. Luckily we weren’t travelling and were again happy for the down day, especially given that our room was so comfortable. The rain wasn’t expected until early afternoon, so after waking up and realizing we were almost late for breakfast, and after the front-desk clerk took pity on us and drove us (in the Bentley!) to the Inn at Bay Fortune, we ate our first meal of the day at Fireworks. We both had two eggs and sausage with home fries, along with a juice/smoothie/granola combo that comes before you even order your meal. Muffins and cinnamon rolls are available to take as you please, and we shared a cinnamon roll based on the accolades given by the receptionist at the Inn at Fortune Bridge. There were fruits, breads, and preserves available as well but we had had our fill and left Fireworks happy and ready for another day in PEI.

We took a quick self-guided tour around the farm again before walking the 2km back to our room at the Inn at Fortune Bridge. It started to rain on the way and continued to rain for the rest of the day. We questioned whether we still wanted to go to Oyster Hour for the second time but were assured that it would go on rain or shine. Even though I am allergic to rain, we did go anyway (it is that good!) and were glad we did. The various stations were re-configured under tents, and everyone was in good spirits and enjoying the delicious food despite the rainy conditions.

After Oyster Hour we were chauffeured back to the Inn at Fortune Bridge where we enjoyed a picnic for dinner. We got one lobster roll and one pastrami sandwich to share, as well as potato salad, coleslaw, pickles, salad and dessert. Jon was particularly happy about the Raspberry Cordials in the basket; in fact, I only had one sip and they were mysteriously gone. Everything was delicious and it was nice to have dinner on our porch overlooking the paddock.

The next day we would be on our way to our next stop in Annandale. We set our alarms early to make sure we would be able to walk to the Inn at Bay Fortune in time for breakfast, and turned in for the night.
